The Next Generation Quality Model |
The Next Generation Quality ModelThe Next Generation Quality model combines four essential processes into one system for clinical process improvement. The Next Generation Quality Model integrates the clinical pathway, patient documentation, variance management system, and continuous improvement process into one system for designing, managing, and improving clinical processes - and the ancillary processes that support them.
The model is based on the Malcolm Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence. This quality management model goes beyond the previous quality models: quality assurance and quality improvement. Next Generation Quality emphasizes that quality is an organizational attribute that requires the participation of everyone. Quality is also more broadly defined to encompass multiple dimensions of performance: financial, clinical, process, outcomes, etc.
Organizations pursuing the Next Generation Quality Model are seeking excellence as an organization, and all aspects of their organization, not just regulatory accreditation. |
