Medfield Hosts Destination Imagination Tournament, Saturday, March 17, 2007

Come see amazing improv talent with Switching Traditions, incredible technical skills with Direct Flight, transforming landmarks with Make It New, colorful crime fighting with CSI:DI, intriguing stories with Round About Courage and weight-bearing structures with Cardiology.    
 
We are proud to announce Medfield will host the Destination Imagination (DI) tournament on Saturday, March 17 at the Medfield High School/Blake Middle School complex.  Medfield will field 8 Elementary teams, 8 Middle School teams and 6 High School teams showcasing their creative solutions to six assigned challenges as they compete against teams from Franklin, Millis, Walpole and other area towns.
 
In a recent scholarship application, one Medfield High student described DI as “seven minds working together to achieve one goal.  Understanding, listening and accepting others’ opinions can open you up to a whole new world of possibilities.  Embracing other’s ideas and sharing your own is the first step.”  
 
Another Medfield student’s essay welcomed DI “testing my theatrical, engineering, technological and improvisational abilities.  I have to think on my feet, a truly essential life skill.  No matter the size or gravity of a dilemma I encounter, I know my experience in Destination Imagination keeps me well-prepared.”
