Quality Assessment for Healthcare : A Baldrige-Based Handbook Ned Barber, 1995 The definitive book on applying the Baldrige Award criteria to healthcare organizational (self)assessment. An experienced examiner with the New York State Excelsior Award, Ned Barber has written a very pragmatic book. It presents the criteria in a clear an concise manner and outlines several methods for using the criteria in healthcare.
Total Quality and Productivity Management in Health Care Organizations Vincent K. Omachonu, 1991 Develops and presents a model for connecting costs, quality, and productivity as part of an overall organizational improvement program. An early and still valuable addition to the TQM in healthcare literature. Case studies included. 
Value-Based Cost Management for Healthcare : Linking Costs to Quality and Delivery Castenada-Mendez, 1996 A very good book by an experienced healthcare TQM practitioner. Combines the new methodologies of value added analysis and based costing with TQM. Potentially, this thinking could greatly improve clinical as a TQM and clinical process design and management tool.
