Town Meeting April 28th)Don't Forget: Town Elections are now at The Center at Medfield (AKA, the Senior Center) on Ice House Road off West Mill Street.My Endorsements:For Selectman: Mark FisherI am supporting Mark Fisher for Selectman. I believe that his experience on the Warrant Committee, and as a banker, would bring needed financial and budgeting knowledge to the office. I think he has the personality and organizational skills to be a plus on the Board of Selectmen in accomplishing important town goals. Debt Exclusion Override: Yes!Full Disclosure: I live across the road (and railroad tracks) from this property. With that said, I'd vote for it wherever it is. I am in favor of this because: 1. Open space. 2. Protecting a town well, in a time when water is becoming a scarce resource around the world. 3. Keep the pressure off the school system, which keeps the pressure off the tax payor. 4. Trails. This isn't just open space, it has a trail system and is used for hiking. As with other properties the town has purchased over the years, this one save the town money in the long run. The debt exclusion decreases over time. And we keep important open space forever. |
